Jason C. Long

Jason C. Long represents clients in all phases of eminent domain, property taxation, real estate, and land use cases, as well as representing clients in appellate litigation. Mr. Long is a shareholder with Steinhardt Pesick & Cohen, P.C., and has successfully represented clients in Michigan's trial courts, the Michigan Tax Tribunal, and the Michigan Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Long began his career with an exclusive position as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Michael F. Cavanagh, Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. He assisted Justice Cavanagh in evaluating and resolving numerous cases before the Michigan Supreme Court.
Mr. Long's professional memberships include the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Incorporated Society of Irish-American Lawyers.
He has achieved numerous academic honors, including membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society and the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During law school, Mr. Long served as the Executive Editor of the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review.
Mr. Long has published a number of articles on topics including eminent domain, taxation, and other real estate issues. His writings have been published in the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review, the Michigan State Law Review, the Wayne Law Review, the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review, and the Michigan Real Property Review.
Jason C. Long attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he received the Jerome P. Cavanagh Scholarship and graduated summa cum laude. He completed his undergraduate education at Oakland University, where he received a full academic scholarship. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with majors in both political science and philosophy, and was named the Oakland University Philosophy Honor Graduate for 1996. Mr. Long has also studied real estate development at the University of Michigan's Rackham Graduate School.
