| Our Fees
Condemnation Cases
Engaging the expertise and experience of SPC presents little
or no risk to you. Most eminent domain cases are handled on behalf
of land or business owners on a contingent fee basis, where our fee
is based on a percentage of amounts recovered over and above the
government's offer. In other words, our fees depend on the results
we produce. Further, under Michigan law, our clients typically receive
reimbursement for most or all of their attorneys' fees from the
government.
Property Tax Appeals
In property tax appeals, we typically charge a percentage of your tax savings. Again, our fees depend upon the results we achieve.
Other Cases
In most other types of cases, our fees are generally charged
on an hourly basis. We assign hourly rates to attorneys and
paralegals according to their respective expertise and level of
experience of the person involved.
